Step 1: Selection Modality Determination

The Ministry will determine the modalities for the selection of the Project Monitoring Unit members from time to time.

This process is designed to ensure that the brightest and best students, who also possess social consciousness, are selected for the unit.

Step 2: Selection of Members

Candidates are selected from top Colleges/Universities/Research Institutes as per National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking.

Selection is contingent upon the candidate possessing essential knowledge of Information Technology (IT) skills.

Step 3: Appointment and Location

The Project Monitoring Unit will initially have 40 members who would be located in the States or Delhi, according to the functional requirements of the Ministry.

The PMU will be set up/expanded and placed in the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), which serves as the implementing agency for the PMU.
